You mean when you upgraded to jetspeed 1.3a2 you had to go back and find the
ecs.jar file from 1.3a1?? Maybe I need to check my ecs.jar?? I am assuming
that your are talking about adding it to the /webapps/jetspeed/lib
directory??
I haven't even attempted to build and deploy the HelloWorldPortlet. I'm a
little unsure about how to compile. Also, it says to be sure to include
certain .jar's in the CLASSPATH however I do not define a CLASSPATH since it
was giving me problems. Jetspeed wouldn't run prior and once I set it to
nothing I was able to get to the Jetspeed login page. Ideas?? Is there any
other detailed articles about building portlets that are out there? I have
read a couple but am still unsure of where to start.
Bob.

Subject: RE: Receiving Error on Jetspeed homepage...
I got that error when I upgraded to 1.3.2, and was still using the
HelloPortlet example which used the method, I think I was able to add the
old ecs.jar to the lib dir and this fixed it.

Subject: Receiving Error on Jetspeed homepage...
Hi all,
When I eventually got to the Jetspeed homepage (the monkey jumped off my
back) however I noticed it doesn't quite look like what I have seen from
pther people's experiences. In the middle of the page I have this error
(exception) displaying and I'm not too sure what it means...
org.apache.turbine.util.TurbineException: Error rendering Velocity template:
/controls/html/jetspeed.vm:
Error rendering Velocity template: /controls/html/jetspeed.vm:
Invocation of method 'getContent' in class
org.apache.jetspeed.portal.portlets.NewRSSPortlet threw exception
class java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
Have I not configured something correctly or maybe I'm missing something
vital to do with Turbine or Velocity?? Has anyone seen this error before?
Help?
Thanks,
Bob.
