Be sure to grab the latest version. There you will find the new database schema as well as the newly implemented "jetspeed user" class . Have a look at the changes-site at http://jakarta.apache.org/jetspeed/site/changes.html - this site is quite (not fully) up to date HTH

Do you think that if I manually edit the TURBINE_USER table, JetspeedUserProfile.java, JetspeedUserProfilePeer.java JetspeedUserMapBuilder.java that I will be able to use the new User attributes or do I have to build Adapter classes also. Sorry if this seems a little simpleminded but as you can probably guess I haven't grasped the fundamentals of what constitutes a Jetspeed User class yet. When I manage this I am definitely writing a how to on the subject. -----Original Message----- From: Markus Strau [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 27 March 2002 15:52 To: Jetspeed Users List Subject: AW: Torque I had a hard way to go to extend my user :) but finally it worked. I recommend to use the latest Jetspeed versions, which have a JetspeedUser class, which is an extension to the turbine user. You can add more columns for your database according to the "disabled" col, which follows the "extend user" steps. Be sure however to change the TurbineMapBuilderAdapter and the BaseJetspeedUser as well. With my app, it works fine now, and you do not have to fuddle with any castings and changes in your turbine.prop file Mit freundlichen Gren / With best regards Markus Strau Softwareentwickler Krusche Lagertechnik AG Schrannenplatz 6 85435 Erding Tel.: 08122/18796-21 Fax.: 08122/18796-50 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: Turley, Michael [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 27. Mrz 2002 16:30 An: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Betreff: Torque After perusing the Turbine extend user howto (http://jakarta.apache.org/turbine/turbine-2/howto/extend-user-howto.htm l) I decided to use Torque in the Jetspeed 1.3a2 source release to extend the TurbineUser class. However, when I looked at the build.properties file for torque it references dbpsml-schema.xml which does not seem to refer to TurbineUser (what is dbpsml-schema.xml for?). How do I use Torque to define extra JetpeedUser attributes and do I need to take any additonal steps? I cannot figure this out from the Turbine extend user howto.
