Enterprise Portal, it's just a concept (All you need and want in one
webpage). I look at jetspeed as a tool for building portals (including web
pages, or anything you want to build over the net, not just portals), and
not as a portal it self. As a tool, it's great. As a portal, depends on me,
or any other boy trying to make a good portal. You have to choose your tools
to provide a solution. IBM Web Sphere Portal, Sybase EP, Oracle Portal, BEA,
offer you security, and some fancy features for a big price. They aren't
portals by them selves either. Jetspeed gives me the opportunity to use the
same (or kind of) technology on smaller companies (and big companies, why
not?) that want the same solution. And Michael I think the way you do. (I'm
a developer too.)
