No guarantee. The difference between -server and -client is the setting used in the generational GC. The server setting is more conservative than the client. IMO, naming them server and client is misleading and an over-generalisation, because for a given application, one setting may perform better than the other, depending on the nature of the application. You'd have to benchmark both setting with your apps to know which one is better.
