Since none of the instructions on the Jetspeed site seem to work for installing Jetspeed, I would like to know how anyone gets a Jetspeed application started. The documentation is either wrong or files are not where they are supposed to be for every way that is written up.

Actually that processes documented on the website work fine for building Jetspeed itself. Sometimes getting started with Maven is a bit challenging (but worthwhile IMO)
I would like to simplify the custom build process....

What is the best way to start a Jetspeed-2 project?

Could you help us test the new Ant Custom Installation

If you could try the instructions I sent to David Dyer a few emails back on this list and see how it works for you I used this approach in my last training course and everyone had it up and running pretty quickly, much faster than with the Maven-2 approach If we can get this to work I will document the process in xdocs and replace the current tutorial

We have Eclipse and that would be my preferred environment to work in.

Ant can easily plugin into Eclipse
Additionally, the tutorial I am working on builds and deploys all PAs with WTP

Sorry about the delay in the new Ant tutorial and all the other issues that I am working on currently that I've promised people but are still incomplete I had to go out of town for 9 days on business and now I can't seem to catch up!

I have Tomcat 6 and can fix any little Tomcat 5 to 6 errors. but we also can run on 5 if we can not get going on the current Tomcat.
We have downloaded Maven2 but could get 1 if that is all that works.

If I can strip out Maven and go with Ant, that would not be too bad but at the moment, I would accept a Maven solution if it will let us get started.
