I agree, but this brings up a couple issues (esp. since I'm new to the project
status).
I would think the system would keep track of custom configs with client-side
cookies. When a user first requests the portal, a cookie would be created
which would contain the default configuration. The cookie would basically have
an XML field in the same format as defaultPortlets.xml. Extra tags within
the <item>s would keep track of whether a given portlet is minimized or not and
anything else we can think of (what would the edit button do?)
Am I correct in believing this? Is anybody working on this/how much work needs
to be done with this? Close and minimize would be easy enough to implement in
this fashion (change the cookie contents, sendRedirect to the same page).
Back to my original question, how are the nntp.jar and pop3.jar files used in
Jetspeed?
