Well, we almost totally agree, but what I was talking about is to edit a
document (maybe in html or something) with pointers to the different install
procs, such a way that each developer, that has done any remark on
installation, could check the procedure or update it when necessary. I saw a
lot of traffic about installation altered by a new release when coming to
v1.1, from the last CVS snapshots the procedures have changed little. (does
everybody feel the same ?).

        Others, including myself, have posted installation instructions to
the list.
        The difficulty in "publishing" the instructions is that with a
rapidly
        expanding product such as Jetspeed, the instructions need to be
modified for
        each CVS.

        So for the next release, we should first ask developers are all
changes for
        now going to be bug-fixes only? If I write installation instructions
today,
        will they still work when it is released? Or should I wait a couple
days?

        Also, I would suggest that instructions be written (or at least
reviewed) by
        people who have installed using different OS's, Servlet servers, web
        servers, etc...
