We are mostly cleaning the house by now. The version names are a bit
misleading: Jetspeed is closer to 0.8 than to 1.0

In principle, you could look at the RSSPortlet, the one responsible of
offering RSS channels.

The documentation is also lacking.

Jetspeed is both a portal layout system and a (very restricted) Content
Management System. Currently it is able to fetch RSS channel
descriptions in coming in OCS format, and show these channels as
portlets. You are looking for new functionalities in this area.

Look for Content Management Systems. For instance,

slide (http://jakarta.apache.org/slide), or
prowler (http://www.infozone-group.org/)

What you are trying to do is interesting. We would need a kind of
micro-CMS to deliver with Jetspeed to ease development, personal usage,
demos, ... It should be implemented in a pluggable way, so that people
using Jetspeed for big portals can unplug it and plug a bigger and
stronger Content Management System.

I would ask you to report on your feelings about what you find in your
search.

I forgot to welcome you to this Airplane, but, you know, we travel at
Jet-Speed, so we are a bit JetLagged :-)
