I have no clue on how to get CVS to work :< I've tried it before and failed
miserably every time.

Sorry, I was talking of the current CVS version - 1.2b1 is different. In
fact it is that old that I don't have any experience with configuration it,
sorry.
CVS HEAD is pretty stable now. Why don't you try to use the latest version?
