What do you have in mind as a replacement for Castor? Prowler?

I've been working with the latest Castor 0.8.11, and it now partially
supports the latest XML Schema spec i.e. simpleType, complexType, which is a
nice improvement.

The problem with Castor's SourceGenerator is that its not extensible at
runtime.
You have to regenerate the bindings to the model at compile time. Of course
this is overhead with late-binding....

Another problem I see with our Castor impl. is that the model is very much
tied to the implementation: XML files.
The new API should address abstracting the registry and markup
implementations, so that the registry and markup can be stored in any data
store.

What about Castor + JDO?
