I came to the conclusion a while back that Castor had to go. The design
issues/goals for Castor were incorrect IMO. I started XJay
(xjay.sourceforge.net) to fix this but it isn't production ready. My
suggestion would be to take a look at XJay and see if you agree with the design
goals... These are documented on the site but:
- - the generated APIs should be easily modified by the user... XJay uses an XSL
stylesheet for this.
- - XML marshal/unmarshal should be outside of the generated classes.
- - Should support any language... XJay currently only implements Java.
Castor is REALLY thick and generates BAD code. I couldn't imagine working with
it again :(...
