Hi JFCers, I seem to want to collect crockpots! And vacuum cleaners and papers and tables and...you name it! I am proud of every one of you who throws out your old crockpots with broken legs (can I have them?). I have visions of meat simmering in one crockpot, veggies steaming in another crockpot and water boiling for pasta in a third! But it would probably blow out the kitchen electrical power! I notice my clutter is so bad after I make my big attempts to clear it out...I hit snags! I get bogged down in the exact same way each time I try to "throw" things out. Maybe I should keep this, maybe its important, maybe its a record of proof that I'll need later on, maybe its an address I'll want to remember but not enough to write it in my personal address book, maybe this, maybe that...sigh. I notice how hard it is to get RID of things! It scares me that our country is built on captialism... But then, maybe its normal after my 47 years of collecting THHINGS to want to begin to move the opposite way! I say thank God for JFC! Keep the de-cluttering tips coming in. I especially liked the eamil (can't remember who wrote it, but you know who you are :) that says sweep through to de-clutter through the rooms and when you are finished, make another sweep! Each sweep eliminates more clutter that could not be parted with the first time :) Sweep...sounds like we need to make ourselves move fast to get the clutter OUT! Boy, this de-cluttering seems to be as hard as EXERCISING! Or following a DIET! Or developing self-discipline and other good habits! Hang in there, everyone! Hugs to all, Amy B
