Karen,
My suggestion would be to make a master list of
everything that needs to be done and work from that
one room at a time. Then, once things are straight
and the way you want them you can "tweak" your list.
For example, if you only need to flip your mattress
every 3 months that goes on the quarterly job list (I
do my mattress and ceiling fans on the solstices so I
can remember to do them). If your bathroom gets a lot
of use and the rug needs washing every week it would
go on the weekly list. Dishes, making the bed,
general pick up, ect go on daily. It is YOUR list.
But the master list is only a guide. Some things you
may look at and wonder why you put them on there (I
did this for several things--he he).
I am going through each room and doing most of what
needs to be done, or at least organizing it so I can
live with it for a while. The trick, I've learned is
once it is clean and straight, to keep it that way
through daily 'patroling'. I used to just clean it
and forget it and a few days later wonder how it got
back to the way it was before I cleaned it. Talk
about aggravating!
Hope this gives you an idea or two. Use what you can,
forget the rest.
