Ardella and anyone else who is interested,

If you go to www.bankrate.com/brm/calc/creditcardpay.asp you can plug in your balance, interest rate, and payment and find out how long it will take you to pay the darn (thinking of MUCH stronger word here) thing off.  Or, you can plug in your balance, interest rate, and how long until you would like to be debt free and it will tell you how much to pay (as if we would be visiting the site if we had the extra $$$ to pay it off).  Just thought you guys might get some use out of the link.  My goal is to get AT LEAST 2 cards paid off this year (one being dh's with a very small balance.  But it will be nice to pay it off just the same).

I also use coupons.  I have a tendency to clip them and then toss them.  It sounds like I don't use them, but I do.  I would rather have them in my coupon organizer and not need them than need them and not have them (which has happened).  I wait until stuff is on sale, go to the grocery that doubles coupons and stock up.  I got Juicy Juice for $.35 a can!!  And Chock Full O Nuts coffee for $.79 a can!!  Both of which we go through regularly so it was a good deal.

I also have a hot pink index card in the front of my organizer with DO NOT BUY written in big letters.  This is a list of the stuff that I don't need, have too much of, ect. (like toothpaste and dish detergent).  I am trying to live out of the pantry (and almost through my bag of expired dry goods.  Thank you, thank you very much) and only buy milk and bread at the store.  My friend gives me eggs when I need them.  Besides, my grocery budget this month is like $12. a week!  Good thing I have some meat in the freezer huh?

Well, I am in on your challenge.  Can I live on $12. a week in groceries?  Hmmm.

Julie
