Hello Bettye,

We want you to think positive thoughts about yourself. Don't compare how much you get done with how much others do. JFC isn't a race to see who can get done first. It is more about making new habits so we can keep the progress we make. There are about 6 or 7 simple habits that can keep your house looking good all of the time.

  1. Make your bed 1st thing every morning.
  2. Do your dishes as soon as you finish eating.
  3. Wipe your bathroom sink, the toilet tank and give your toilet bowl a swish. (Once you start this you will really notice when you miss a day.)
  4. Deal with your mail as soon as it enters your house. Mine gets sorted into 3 piles. DH (can anyone tell me why one man needs 30 magazines a month????? LOL) , Bills (fondly known as mine) and Trash. DH's goes on his reading table, Mine gets filed until bill day and Trash goes in the recyclables immediately.
  5. Sweep kitchen & entryway floors.
  6. When you are done, put it away.
  7. Don't let your laundry build up. (This is from someone who used to do all of her laundry just once a week)

Some of us find making our to do list public inspires us to complete it or make more progress on it than we would otherwise. Other times it serves to organize our thoughts and get us going, even if we only complete a part of it.  Good luck and

Kindest regards,
Vanetta

PS~ DH stands for dear or darling husband, or any other word beginning with D and if he is in instead of out of the doghouse, it might not be as pretty of a word. LOL!!!!!

Subject: [JFC]: newbie question

Ok, I'm slow...are we *supposed* to send a list every day of what we intend to do that day?? And then report on it by day's end? I don't know if I missed an initial "this is how we do things here" post...

And then the weekend challenge is some more significant project we intend to tackle?

Slow Bettye
