Dear Vanetta:

Thank you for the kind words...of course, I was hysterical by the time I got halfway through the list you sent...

Make your bed 1st thing every morning.
Do your dishes as soon as you finish eating.
Sweep kitchen & entryway floors.

Make my bed? EVERY morning?? Sigh. Oh, this is way too hard. Stop for coffee every morning - remember to pay - now THAT I can do. Flush after peeing - that, I've got pretty well covered. But, do the dishes as soon as I'm done eating?? Oh my. Go to work. I manage that. Come home. I usually manage that, too. But, sweep the kitchen every day? It's times like these that make me think maybe I LIKE the clutter.

And while I'm really more the "spontaneous" cleaning/project type (from one moment to the next, I can find myself Fed Up and Ready to Do Something About It - I can rarely PLAN that feeling) I'm going to give the list a try...just a short list because I have some major things planned for the weekend (well, major for me), but here goes....

Saturday, February 23, 2002

1) Move chicken now soaking in water, to buttermilk
2) Garage sale with child (after stopping for coffee...see, I never forget THAT)
3) Come home and get laundry started - while I send child out to pull priority tape off the back of my car (long story, never mind).
4) Either clean/wash what I just brought home from the garage sale (if anything), or drag most easily reachable box of ebay stuff upstairs from basement to clean or put in dishwasher.
5) Clear 2 spaces in basement - #1 - the spot where all the stuff will go that is now in the spot where the hot water heater should be; and #2 - the spot where the hot water should be.
6) Switch laundry around
7) If it's still daylight, photograph the ebay stuff I cleaned/washed earlier
8) Drive child to her father's after she's done all she can do for me in the basement
9) Switch laundry around, or bring upstairs if it's done and put in appropriate rooms
10) Write ebay auctions til I am falling asleep

I was hoping to have time to actually FRY the chicken tomorrow, but it's already looking like it may have to wait til Sunday morning...

It's so easy to get carried away when you're Writing It Down...and then I guess you feel COMPELLED to DO IT once you've put it down in black and white...funny, that's how I always work at work...but somehow the same principles don't work at home...

Okay, shutting up now...and Vanetta, this was not meant in a disrespectful way At All...I am in AWE of people who can keep stuff neat and organized all the time...
