Hi Bess,

I'm not good with those machines either. I actually had a friend who
cleaned her bathroom everyday after she got home from work. Can you
imagine?

What I do:
1) remove towels and laundry to the washer
2) vacuum the floor
3) take all the bottles, holders, dispensers to the kitchen
4) windex the mirror & any pictures, dust whatever is necessary
5) spray the sink & toilet with comet spray (if heavy buildup let sit for
few minutes and wipe, repeat and let the spray sit for 10 minutes to
sanitize) also now is the time to spray down any toddler stools or toilet
seats, I let them sit in the bathtub... When I'm done cleaining, I wipe the
surface down with an old clean towel, then I set the stool/seat in the sink
to air dry.
6) add toilet bowl cleaner and comet spray the outside of the tub/shower
wipe off (same as above if necessary)and spray down the inside of the tub
and shower surround. If very heavey buildup, you may go through a couple of
bottles of the spray. I know I did when I cleaned my brothers bathroom
before he moved.
7) mop the floor, it will be stickey with all the spray runoff from the
toilet. You may need to mop twice, so just go over it twice. Use your mop
to wash the baseboards if you can and you may be able to get away using the
mop to clean the little pipe that comes down from behind the toilet.
8) during spray/wait time, wash the bottles & dispensers so they are ready
to go back to the bathroom after you are finished in there.

Now, I don't get to the walls much, but you may need to wash them
occasionally too. Also, consider taking another chore day to wash the
doorknobs throughout the house, not just the bathroom.

During the week, take chlorox premoistened towels, they sell different kinds
in the cleaning isle. I use 2 to wipe down the sink/counter, parts of the
tub, & the toilet. Works nicely. Oh, and rubbing alcohol on cotton balls
wiped over the faucets shine them up nicely. Note, alcohol doesn't work on
brass, turns it green.

Hope that helps, Now I think I need to get in there to clean mine too!
Warmly,
Theresa

Now to my plea for help...does anyone have any
ideas/suggestions/insights/etc. on cleaning bathrooms? This is THE big
roadblock for me. I absolutely HATE cleaning the bathroom. So, as a result,
I
let things slide until they reach critical mass and then I have a big chore
on my hands and I hate it all the more. I'm sure there's an easier way to
handle this. A friend of mine even gave me a Black & Decker "Scumbuster"
which is supposed to make the job easier, but I think I'm using it
wrong...story of my life when it comes to small appliances! :-)

Thanks for letting me vent. All suggestions welcome! :-)

Take care everyone,
Bess
