Louise -

You have my sympathy on the decluttering mess - as well as my congratulations
that he's actually getting it done. I feel certain that the decision to
declutter is a result of his job situation - and probably a healthy one. He's
taking charge of the things he can control and getting something
accomplished.

Unfortunately, I know just how much mess that entails... I'm working hard at
decluttering and reorganizing my attic. It has been my most dreaded project,
ever since I started decluttering. Although I've worked on it & had small
accomplishments previously, I've never been ready to go all out and do the
whole job.

Now I'm determined to work on it and stick with it til the job is done. I'm
not off work, so this means finding time on nights and weekends between my
kids activities. The result of not having large blocks of time is that I'm
making alot of mess along the way and not having time to clean up after each
attic session.

Consequently, I have boxes in my living room and garage, things being sorted
on the kitchen counter and junk everywhere. It makes me crazy! I get so
confused when I surrounded by "stuff". I was sorting the craft boxes in my
bedroom, but last night I finished that and put them in their attic home,
thank goodness... I need to have my bedroom clean and peaceful so I can get
some rest.

I know that its going to get worse before it gets better, but I'll just have
to survive it. I'm positive that its going to be worth it in the long run.

I do think that I'm going to spend this evening working on clearing and
sorting the things I've already taken down, before I work up there anymore.
Once those things are done I'll be ready for the next batch and I'll get back
up in the attic. Talk about an ongoing process....

Good luck to you and Michael on this. Just hang in there and let him do what
he has to do. Maybe if you ask there will be some way you can help him
without interfering. Keep in mind that the results will be worth it.

Diane
