Hi to everyone on this most supportive/helpful of sites!
I read Linda in NJ's post about her upcoming yard sale. I,too, have had
less than favorable experiences-the "early birds" who come as I'm tryng
to set up,even though I specifically said,"No Early Birds" in my ad.
Then,of course, there is all that work lugging all the STUFF
outside...and then, what to do with all the STUFF left on your lawn when
the sale is done. I've figured that part out-whatever is left, gets
donated or thrown away.
The worst experience was one sale when I sold things that I regretted
selling. There was a box of baby items that were very special to me,and
I was saving them. My husband brought out that box, and there were many
people around at that time...the next thing I knew, someone had "left"
with my first son's "going home" outfit and a special outfit that was
purchased by a favorite aunt. It wasn't his fault...it was mine for not
doing a better job of labeling. So,my advice would be to make sure
everything you put out there, are things you really want out there.
BTW, Linda, I find the "flylady" a bit "authoritarian" for my
liking...how does she help you?Maybe I should revisit her site.
All the best, and have a FUN! sale...
Jean in NH
