Hi All,
Would anyone care to work with me tomorrow? I have all the usual
laundry and straightening to do, plus I'd like to make a real dent in the DB
("dreaded basement"). My reward for that hard work will be to work outside
for a bit in setting up some new garden space.

Sherry, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, and how nice of your son
to pitch in! Don't get too frisky now that you're back home and overdo!

Jean, I can see how the Flylady wouldn't be for everyone, but she's
helped me a great deal in setting up new routines. What has also helped is
her admonition to 'delete at will' (in reference to her e-mail reminders),
and that you are never behind. There have been some nice changes in my home
and attitude over the past months, thanks to her and all of the members of
JFC.

I had an incident in January where 911 had to be called for my 10 yr old
dd who was having a severe allergic reaction (true anaphylaxis with hives,
swelling face and tongue). I was on my way home from work when this
occurred, and my 17 yr old dd got me on the cell phone. I told her to call
911, and then I called my mother (who lives around the corner) to stay with
them until I reached home within about 10 minutes. At that time my only
concern was with my dd, and I was petrified for her. Being a nurse is not
always an advantage, as I was imagining some horrible scenarios.
Thankfully, everything turned out alright and we found the causative factor
(no more amoxicillin for her).
It wasn't until after we returned home from the hospital that I realized
that there was no need to cringe because strangers had been through my home.
It was clean, smelled nice, no clutter in sight, and best of all, all of the
Christmas things were packed away. (And this only in January!!) It had been
quite a while since I had been able to feel this way, and it was a good
feeling. All of my routines sort of fell apart what with my divorce, moving
from my home of the last 20 years, and working full time to support 3 kids.
It has been with babysteps that I've made this much progress, and I'm not
done yet.

I'll check in tomorrow and give the DB update!

                                                        Linda in NJ
