Leslie,

What I do is make a list of jobs that I would like to
delegate. Then ask someone, who has said they wouldn't
mind volunteering if they could do a certain task for
me. Think of it as you are in charge and "assign" your
"volunteers" jobs. If they offered their services in
the past, but have done nothing to help you yet, this
may be just what they are looking for you to do. Even
though you are just a volunteer, you are still the
leader in their eyes. I'm sure many people would be
happy to help if you asked them specifically to do
something, but if you are sitting back passively
expecting them to jump in when you need them to, it
probably won't happen. (They may even be afraid to
step on your toes.) Communicate clearly what needs to
be done and your expectations for how and when. Not
only will many people probably respond positively to
your directness, but you may even gain more respect as
a leader. Hope I was able to offer you an idea anyway.

Kris
