The Head of the Economic Committee in the National Assembly, Babikir
Mohammed Al Tom, has said that Parliament will not defend any state
official who is accused of corruption or misuse of public funds.

Speaking to Radio Miraya Monday, Al Tom said that impunity of state
officials will be raised by the Parliament Secretariat in
collaboration with the President.

On Saturday, the President of the Judiciary System, Jalala-din
Mohammed, urged the National Assembly to release files of evidence for
cases of corruption to the legal authorities for prosecution.
