(Editor) I fear more chaos in July I'm currently in Juba and the situation is unbearable where rich become richer and poor become poorer; there is no middle class and all graduates are on the street with their certificates. The system of the government is based on who you know not what you know (merit) in term of employment, and many others that drive most army officers to take up armies against nepotism, discrimination and deep-seated tribalism on the all institutions and domination of one tribe in the government. I fear in July and beyond if Kiir and his SPLM diehards do not behave themselves more chaos will erupt. John Both Kon, South Sudan People discouraged by system The Kiir Government of armed clique that amass public resources (Funds) every night has demoralized millions of internationals and natives due to absence of good governance and transparency, check and balance in utilization of public funds and total lack of accountability plus numerous injustice. It's a great outcry when we witnessed suffering of children of heroes who died during the struggle while their living colleagues have stolen money and bought skyscrapers abroad. They must change the system. Daniel Anyar Barech, Sudan Gov. Taban best friend of Kiir Why are you wasting time to ask for the resignation of governor Taban Deng,,who will accept his resignation? This is the best man or friend to Kiir. Let me tell you something strange, is Unity state richer in petroleum production or is it Warap state? If it's UNITY state, is it better to have the REFINERY where petroleum is produced or to transport the crude to the farthest distance for refining? According to the proposal made by Taban to please Salva Kiir, he told him to build the refinery in WARRAP state. So I said His resignation can't be accepted by ROSS president unless Nuer should follow what happened in EGYPT AND OTHER ARAB NATIONS. George Lot, Sudan Advice from a Kenyan It's my prayer that south Sudan does not go to war again. The problem of militias groups should all be addressed by SPLA. Integrating the forces would see the country united for a common front. If in any case south Sudan opens windows for micro-problems, they may eventually grow to a level they will threaten national peace. South Sudan is a young Nation in Africa whose priority should be addressed. John Omariba Nyabwari, Kenya No forceful Recruitment in Unity State It's immature decision for the State Governor to force young men to join army since he has no authority to conscript civilians who have no intention to join the army in the first place. Instead of advising these young men to go to school or do other business within the state, he forcefully required them to join the army. We still have reserve of unconfirmed soldiers which can be enlisted if the government is disposed to integrate them. My question is why only Unity State governor wants to force young men to join army while the rest of the States haven't embraced the policy? Is this recruitment is going to be applied to all southern States? Also, is the recruitment authorized by GOSS? I believe Taban has hidden agendas and I think he wants to destabilize the State by letting Bentiu citizens to kill themselves. I can infer this to Itang episode where he tricked people that their children would go to school in Kenya and in fact the plan was to recruit them as soldiers. Given this experience about Taban's misconception to people, I think his main intention is to let Bentiu citizens kill each others since he knows Gatdeet Yaka will obtain his soldiers from the same people. As such, we can condemn this action because it would destabilize Nuer society in general. Lam Jok Wai, Canada Creating a uniform system I would like to comment on this comparison article written by Lamija Milaja, "Bring democracy to Upper Nile first," in my opinion you and Dr Okuk James have committed the same mistake. Particularly, Mr. Milaja who notoriously insulted all the people of upper NILE for James' opinions. I think peace and democracy and stability in southern Sudan can't be achievement by tribes nor by regions, but by creating a uniform system that will be strong to fight wrong ideas in our communities across southern Sudan. When you say that Upper Nile state is the only place where rebellion is constantly happening may be you're right, but it doesn't mean there is no hostility among the great Equatoria regions people. Jabriel K, Canada For those who Think Equatoria is Clean: Saying that somebody is dull is not an insult but an alert that something is not correct in his thinking pattern. This is the only intention when I chose to use the expression "Dull Equatoria Governors," and I am glad it served the purpose as I can see from the reaction. For those who think South Sudan Equatoria has been a clean heaven let them answer these questions: 1) Are not the Zande Arrow Boys militias of Equatoria? What about the Mandari Militia of Clement Wani, Didinga Militia of Peter Lorot, Toposa Militia and other Equatorians Militias who were used by the NCP against the SPLM/A? 2. Was it not in Equatoria where the Chrisitian Missionaries were question over one of the Ten Commandments that prohibited killing of human beings: Is it a sin to kill a Lotuku (Otuho), asked a Toposa Man? 3. Is it not common in Equatoria to poison opponent rivals in order to eliminate them in cold blood? 4. Did the Mandari Militiia attacked Bari Tribe in Juba with heavy weapons two years ago or not? 5. Was it not an Equatorian who shot dead a Minister in GoSS Office this year and were it not Equatorians who ambushed and wounded late Dr. Samson Kwaje a year ago? 6. Was it not an Equatorian Chairman of HEC in 1980s who married a brown Arab woman to become a First Lady of Southern Sudan Region? Let's not rejoice and thank God for any thing bad occurring in any corner of South Sudan. We should have it as a duty to challenge the bad things and praise the good ones in South Sudan with any style of language we can use. Otherwise, good change will never come very soon to our beloved Land. I strongly believe that the strength of South Sudan comes from the rich diversities of it regions. But my concern is when will many Equatorians learn to think as a "First Class Citizens" who are entitled to become "King-makers" rather than seeking only to be King-made? Please liberate yourself! I want to vote for an Equatorian Presidential Candidate in the next coming elections. Dr. James Okuk -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JFD info" group.
