Lakes State already a mass graveyard for its inhabitants, worst still to come!

Amonyping, RUMBEK, LAKES STATE MAY 18/2011,SSN; The so-called intellectuals and politicians and those with authority to influence things in Rumbek, the capital, and entire state should walk with their heads dug into their shirts/jackets in shame, absolute shame for their inconceivable failures to bring the volatile security situation under control. The once glorious province of the South, in which is situated the once prestigious "higher institution of learning" in the land, Rumbek Senior Secondary school, which produced most of our contemporary Southern Sudanese political leaders, has become nothing but a den of thieves and savages with no slightest feelings for human lives and properties of others. Indeed, the world of the once proud and productive people of Lakes State, people who enormously contributed to many developmental activities of Southern Sudan including being in the forefront of the region's many liberation struggles and political leadership, has been turned upside down, completely! Our traditional leaders such as Machar Anyijong of Yirol, Arol Kachuol of Chueibet, Rok Reec of Rumbek, Anong Nyingeer of Aliap, plus many more, were among the finest and most respected traditional leaders in the entire South and Sudan. These leaders were gifted wise men who knew how to settle disputes in their different community groups with justice and fairness to all, they united their efforts, resources and abilities to give no room to maggots who thrive in chaos. On top of that, they were selfless leaders who used their own personal wealth for the well-being of the needy and the poor. They must be turning agonizingly in their graves, when their once respected and glorious homeland has been turned into an objective-less killing field and tribal fanaticism/radicalism of the highest degree. I have always been a proud son of Lakes, but now hugely ashamed and embarrassed by the endless bloodshed and tribalistic contest in my motherland. Poor (President) Kiir Mayardit and his GoSS, while they have powers to intervene, can at the end of the day do nothing but watch with a bleeding heart for the fact that the once backbone territory of SPLA, an army he led as beloved Chief of general Staff, its people have gone berserk. They are endlessly tearing each other to pieces while the State Governor and government is busy promoting ethno-centric politics of favoritism, nepotism and corruption, selective application of justice and stashing away millions of Dollars in Neighboring countries, money that they even attempted to transport in Refrigerators. What a bunch of thieves! Instead of uniting their efforts and resources to crack down hard on insecurity irrespective of tribal and geographical boundaries, and punish culprits with full force of the law, they are instead severely punishing poor youths who are engaged in fornication, a natural process in mankind's evolution. I wonder where we are heading to and what our long term future will be as people of Lakes state! A state where innocent people are killed cold-bloodedly, cattle rustled with impunity and poor innocent commuters slain for simply belonging to a particular clan or tribe is nothing but clearly a Satan's palace. Governor Chol Tong Mayay and your team, help people of Lakes state with full authority and neutrality as elected democratic government of the people, by the people and for the people, or resign en masse. Your being there in authority without doing anything substantial is the worst of pain the State's people are enduring. Apprehend and severely punish insecurity perpetrators without exception, leave the poor fornicator youths alone, they are not the top priority!! General Kiir Mayardit, some of the old men and women in your government, who are from Lakes state have also a lot of questions to answer pertaining to unending chaos in the state. Jinub, RUMBEK, LAKES STATE MAY 9/2011, SSN; Someone somewhere (groups/individuals) of high ranks and positions of SPLA (the South Sudan Army) in Government Of South Sudan, GOSS, did incite this vicious, callous and barbaric assault on the community of Maleng-Agok Payam, whose entire villages have been maimed; six of their sons killed mercilessly! This is one more clash witnessed in this county of Rumbek East from April 21 to 22 2011. The nature, magnitude and proportion of this communal dispute attack on Thuyic of Maleng-Agok Payam was shocking. The artillery of PKMs, G3 machine guns, automatic new AK 47s used, plan and coordination of the whole assault were organized and for target hitting! This indicates that behind it, there are some figures involved. This is further supported by the quarrel that rocked Juba between the two communities' members working in GOSS. I am told that the group of assailants had requested the affected group for a meeting and that they should come home to disperse their communities' members set for revenge attacks, especially the Thuyic of Maleng-Agok that had been attacked in their villages. The two sides ended up quarrelling till then, and there is no known meeting between the two, leave alone their communities back home in Rumbek East sure of settling the dispute. Some sympathizers that I have spoken to do support the cause of the Thuyic of Maleng-Agok for being victims of Government negligence, non-action and inability of SPLA, Security forces of Police, Prisons, Wildlife and Fire Brigade. The fact of the matter dwells on what is the cause of this continuing conflict that has been on for over ten years of bloody confrontation between one people as maternal uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and brothers/sisters in-laws. Funnily enough, the SPLA Major General from the assailants ide was in Rumbek town before launch of this attack on this other community of Thuyic. Whirling rumors accused this SPLA Maj. General of being behind this deadly battering. The other sign of this episode is the mass movement out of Lakes state by road and air of some intellectuals from Gony section of Athoi that assaulted Thuyic! What could be behind their runaway-like situation/state? I am told that many of these section youths both students and their working class members have run to Juba/Kampala, Wau and Juba! Are they guilty or afraid of retribution that may impede their stay around as usual!? According to a reliable source that I spoke to and who're prepare to remain unnamed, said that the assailants had been well armed and some of the ammunitions (bullets) used are from north Sudan and that they were brought from across Unity State! This same source told me that SPLA forces deployed in Cuei-chok, Maleng-Agok and Pacong locations and the organized forces of Police, Prisons, Wild Life and Fire Brigade were informed in advance of the imminent physical violence before the attackers were on Thuyic, and yet Thuyic was still hit by their organized opponents of Gony, and this time at the watch of the Government in the form of SPLA soldiers, and Organized forces. During the battle, it was Police vehicles that rescued some wounded and carried the dead in their pickup vehicles as these skirmishes ensued! All these indicate that the Government of South Sudan from Juba down to counties and villages are noted as unable and not ready to protect civilians at the verge of any danger whether by themselves or other forms of rebellion as that of George Athor, Peter Gadet, or Gatluak! SPLA and other organized forces should do more to protect lives being risked as we move closer to nationhood!
