Sorry for the flood of messages, but I really would like to get this running
on fedora core 1. New problem, I've found a different install doc which
I've followed to find and download all the packages and I'm cross ref that
with the Debian install guide. In the debian install guide it says to copy
tac_plus.conf from the docs directory, but there is no file with that
name...but I've found a file called tac_plus.cfg, but the /etc/tac_plus
directory does not exist for me to copy this file into due to the fact that
I have not installed tac_plus yet (no apt for this in fedora) and when I try
to build tac_plus as per the debian guide, I get an error stating that it
cant find libmysqlclient...unless I remove the --prefix=/usr switch and then
it configures OK, but on the make tac_plus it fails, so I edited the mysql.h
file and changed DB to db and and reran the entire build process only to
fail on the make tac_plus (funny, when I ran configure again, with the
--prefix, this time it worked...)...this is so frustrating. Compared to the
debian install, this has been a total problem filled affair and I wish I
could just use debian again...but unfortunatly debian wont detect this stupd
Adapted 2400a raid controller...Could someone please give me some clear
guidance on a fedora install...Thanks.

For example, the debian install guide says to install libdbd-perl and if I
try to do an apt-get for this it fails...if I search for this, I cant find
it. Also, in the more detailed part of the required packages for install,
it lists phplib (for example) and I cant apt-get or find this anywhere on
the net...yet when I installed JFFNMS on debian, I had no problem
apt-getting this...hrmm. Thanks for any help.

Hi
Thanks for the reply...so should I follow the Debian install guide and just
install the packages that I can find? Thanks

Hi Jason,

I think you can get most of your packages directly from Fedora, then get
rrdtool (if not already in Fedora from their site), and fping
from rpmfind.net
