Can you get the original conf/config.ini from the tar.gz ?
Then run /admin/setup.php and it should work.
Setup should not ask for a password on the first run.Javier

I installed php 4.3.8 and that fixed the parse errors, now however I was able to run setup.php and set the paths correctly, but now i get an error on the login page, whihc still loads underneath, then again after i entered user and password and hit enter. The error is:

And it then outputs nothing after that on the second page.
