Hi Dave,
Can you show us your syslog-ng.conf file, and your router 'logging' part config ?
Did you saw the cisco-example file ?
Also, is syslog-ng the only syslog daemon running on your box? Can you show us the output of:
netstat -putan

Hi all,
Can anybody give me a short (but complete) explanation on how to get the syslog events that routers send into the events table. My syslog-ng is working fine, but I can't seem to get the events in the database using the supplied configuration example of jffnms.
I'm probably doing something wrong, but since I'm not a linux specialist, I have no clue what is going wrong.
Can anyone give me a 'foolproof' guide on this ?
thanks,
Dave
