Can you be more specific on which Virtual Machine package you are
running, and what guest OS you are using JFFNMS under? Virtual OS's can
be quite different from each other, and with the vast combination of
guest/host Operating systems available its very hard to answer your
question accurately.
I personally use GSX server for most of my application testing and
development, running CO-LO installations of OpenBSD perfectly across
clustered servers, although JFFNMS is next on my list.
