Not if you downgrade to 5.0.4
I'll try to fix those for next version.
But if everything else works and its just the error, you can add a @ to the
start of "date" like @date to suppress the error.

Mysql 4.1.1
I had to use php 5.1.1 to get the "fatal error: only variables can be passed
by reference" error resolved.
If I downgrade PHP again the error will come back...

displayed on the purple icon with the word "unknown" under it.
