Thats an issue of the net-snmp people.
We just monitor their "Free" OID.

But I know what you are saying and its true, its counting cached as used.

Hello everybody,

I use JFFNMS to monitor several Linux servers and i get several alerts
regarding the "free" memory.
An exemple, a server with 1 Gb/ram reports (using 'free') :

Total : 905000 Used : 894000
Free : 11000
buffers : 30000
Cached : 183000

The alerts comes regarding "Free" but what's about the "Cached" parameter ?
Why not using it in the calcul ?
it's often used by disk cache and could be acceded very quickly.
What do you think about this ?

Best regards.
