Discovery of interfaces is possible on all platforms, discovery of hosts is 
not.
So it depends on how many of those interfaces are found in how many hosts.

I am unsure why Windows won't do NAD, it could be due to some missing 
binary.

I'm generally lazy, if a few lines of perl (or php) saves me work, I'd 
write it.  If I had do manually load up a lot of hosts, all the same, I'd 
just directly inject them into the database.

Use the Reachability interface type.
