I don't think you can group them by interface type but there is a polling interval parameter for each interface. I suppose you could somehow group them together and do a direct database injection to update it, if there was a lot of them. I haven't look too close to the code around that area, but I'm pretty sure the polling planner looks at that field to work out what interfaces need to get polled soon.
