Well, I see what you are driving at, in general.
However, in the above example, should you just run
(2) different JFFNMS installations on Host X and
Host Y?

That said, if a company was offering the service
to lots of different customers, would you want to
run the risk of one master server, as a critical
point of failure? If you do choose this software
architecture, 'RollOver' or some other form of
fault tolerant server arch would be warranted, imho.

If not, then your minimum would be to chroot or
some other form of virtual server so that each
customer ( and their data) is isolated, methinks.


Hardware is the cheapest part of network
monitoring. My education and experience with HA
systems, says to 'spread the risk' and thus
increase your Availability and minimize risk due
to software/hardware/human issues/failures.....
