Correct.

Unfortunately, it already ran, and even more unfortunately, I was
getting firewall traps spewed to the console at the same time, so I
couldn't really see what it found.

We had a series of crashes on this machine, about once a week, about a
month ago. This was back when we were running kernel 2.4.x and an even
older jfsutils. When I upgraded to 2.6.x, if memory serves, I upgraded
the kernel, then the jfsutils, then I ran a fsck just to be on the safe
side. There were some errors detected, but I don't really remember
what. I then expanded one of the filesystems, did a JFS resize, and I
think I ran fsck again (and it came back clean). But I can't completely
guarantee the latter.

This was 11 days ago, and the system has not been down since. This is
the first we've seen any of these problems.

I don't really know what an xtree is, but if it's possible that some
data relating to infrequently-used files or directories was to blame,
it's entirely possible that those files/directories weren't accessed for
11 days.
