Oh, didn't see that. Guys, could you CC me the next time, please?

But no, that was not the problem: I copied my whole /home to another partition
and mounted that as /home to test.

Currently I am using jfs on top of dm-crypt for production use, but
xfs does really another job.

The mysterious thing is that I do get notified some time of mails arriving
in other mailboxes.

To be more in detail: I've ~nico/Maildir which consists of several
submaildirs:

[20:55] hydrogenium:ccollect.sh% find ~/Maildir -name cur -type d | wc -l
646

mutt has all those maildirs listed in its configuration.

To test what I say here I do the following:

# start mutt in one xterm
mutt -f ~/Maildir/

# create a new mail
touch ~/Maildir/new/TEST

# nothing happens in mutt
# If I press cursor up or down in mutt, it refreshes the list and shows
# the new message

Now I do the same on a xfs partition and... I wonder, nothing
happens in mutt again. Strange.

I could swore mutt would be notified instantly.
Now I ssh to another box and test the same on ext3. Nothing happens
again until I move the cursor.

Testing on xfs, jfs, ext3 and reiserfs on the remote machine, all
behave now like what I was wondering about.

Sorry guys, I am now totally confused. Perhaps Linux itself, my configuration
on all machines or mutt changed.

I'll try to find out, why mutt now behaves differently on all filesystems
I use.

Nico
