To turn on automatic calculations (by default it is on)

Press alt+f

Move with up arrow key to Options, open it,

move with down arrow key to Formula tab.

Then press TAB once

There it is: checkbox automatic calculation. Mark it with space ant then
enter to close the window

To maximize Excel program window

Alt+space bar, arrow up to option Maximize, enter

Unfortunately i don’t know how to maximise the Excel sheet window.

How do I correct the 2 options you mentioned?

Thank you.

Hi,

Excel 2016, JAWS 17, Windows 10 – no problems with summing.

Maybe the ribbon is minimized? Or the excel sheet or the Excel window is to
small and JAWS can’t read the text?

Other possibilities are

you have turned on „Show Formulas“ (options on ribbon)

or automatic calculation is turned off in Excel options.

Or the cell format is text.(application key, arrow to format, enter, ....)

Subject: Figuring out formulas in Excel 2013 with Windows 10 & Jaws 17

Hi:

Can someone tell me how to calculate formulas like sum in Excel 2013, Jaws
17 & Windows 10? I used to with Excel 2013, Jaws 14 & Windows 8, go to
formulas tab and select insert function. I used to be able to tab through to
hear my choices. I don’t hear that any more. By pressing on enter or
something I somehow got it to calculate, but now Jaws just says the column &
cell number and contains formula and doesn’t tell me what the answer is.

Please advise; thank you.

Sincerely,

Lauren
