Congrats on the IE 11 install, Adrian!
I was hoping to get to it this week-end, but some other things came up that had to take precedence. My ttemporary solution is to make Firefox as my default internet browser, and to relegate Internet Explorer to the status of my back-up browser. Hopefully, I can get the IE 11 install taken care of here at some point soon. Just very busy now with the start of yet another University teaching semester. How my investment broker's tech support managed it is mostly a mystery to me. They started by installing something called System Update Readiness Tool, and then they attempted another install of IE11 in order to get an error code number. MS fails to supply such an obvious error detection tool with Windows. Eventually, they determined that certain files needed to open before IE11 installation could succeed. I had these files on my system, but they didn't automatically open when the IE11 installation began. I wish I could be more specific. Morals of the story: 1. Remember, I originally had IE11 on my Windows 7 system and was encouraged to revert to IE10 before I discovered that IE10 would no longer be supported as of tomorrow, Tuesday. I doubt that people who never had IE11 on their systems in the first place will encounter my problems. 2. To reiterate, all you have to lose if you try to install IE11 is time. The process is completely accessible, except for a very long reboot without any auditory indication of what's going on. If the installation fails, your current IE installation will not be affected. 3. Beware of Microsoft Accessibility support. They were ready to do a Windows repair, followed if need be by a Windows reinstall. That would have been a nightmare. I'm completely at a loss why they couldn't have done what my investment tech support guys did, other than that they must operate by rote with a very limited play list.
