I forgot to mention that I am also using IE11.

Interesting! I am using Windows7, Jaws17, and a home computer. I am not
having this issue at all. So, I guess this is definitely a mistery.

Londa and all:

Regarding my problem with entering text into edit boxes using IE 11, I made a
very interesting discovery today that I’d like to share.

At work, my University windows 7 laptop had Internet Explorer 9 on it, so I
upgraded to IE 11 on that computer. I’m using the same version of Jaws there
(Jaws 16.0.4350, and I have no problem entering text into form edit boxes on
that computer once IE 11 was installed.

So, obviously, the problem I am experiencing is unique to my main home Windows
7 PC.

I don’t have a clue as to what might be causing this issue on the home PC, but
I at least have this new piece of information to work with.

To recap, last summer, I worked extensively with FS Tech support to address
this issue. We conducted various Jaws repairs and re-configurations. We also
totally uninstalled and then re-installed Jaws. But nothing worked.

The Microsoft Accessibility Hotline folks were also at a loss.

In answer to Londa’s question, the problem does not occur when Jaws is closed,
and when the computer is used normally as a sighted person would. In other
words, when a sighted person uses the computer without Jaws, the PC cursor
behaves as it should with no problem in terms of entering text into edit
fields. I have not tried NVDA, Window Eyes, or another screen reader to see if
the problem occurs with alternate screen readers.

I’m not quite sure what to do or where to go from here, but at least I have
narrowed the problem down somewhat.

I'm curious whether or not this is really a JAWS problem. Have you tried this
with sighted assistance and no screen reader? Also, have you tried it with NVDA
or some other similar product? Just curious and trying to help get to the
bottom of this.
