Mario, have you checked the JAWS quick settings menu? I was surprised to find 
spell-check options there, but at least one exists in Outlook. (I know you're 
using Thunderbird.) JAWS key+v for quick settings, then type "spell" in the 
edit field that comes up right away, then arrow down through the choices.
