well, it's a imap account,
the messages do come to the outlook2013 inbox, however, they only stay there
for a few seconds, yes? they really do disappear.

It sounds like your email is downloading somewhere else like maybe
your phone and being deleted from the server. But that is just a
guess.
What kind of account is your email coming from?
