text processing is the third or fourth item from the top of the list. if
you're looking for it via the menus, it's in the user settings.

In settings center under text processing there is an item "enhanced
edit support". In earlier versions of JAWS if this was turned on
there was a problem. It is turned on on my computer, though, with
JAWS 17, and my words are staying in place. It might be worth
checking, though, just in case.
