I've seen quirky DVD behavior with various commercial products, but it usually 
consists of nothing more than hemming and hawing on one drive, not on another.  
Your problem is unique in degree, but not in kind.

That's definitely good to hear that I'm not going absolutely crazy over here.  
That however said, I really really wonder what on earth causes this issue.  I 
could see it if the drive was either busted, or on the way to being busted, but 
for it to only do this with one particular disc, yet none others?  That is so 
weird!
