Back a few years ago when I was having similar problems, Freedom Scientific
suggested I manually clean out the folder c:\windows\prefetch. Deleting the
contents of that folder, but not deleting the folder itself, fixed the IE
problems I was having.

Unfortunately I have no suggestions but I too have the problem and it is
driving me crazy. Also, when I try to use the JAWS search function on the page,
it sometimes shuts me down or I can sometimes get it to speak again by
refreshing with f5.
the jaws search does the same thing to me on fire fox

Subject: JFW and IE errors.

Hi folks! I'm working with a gentlemen who is having issues with IE crashing
on him. He was using Internet Explorer Version 8.0, and we switched him to
Version 9.0. Unfortunately this has not totally eliminated the crashing. I'll
try to describe what is going on as best I can here. He tells me that he'll be
doing his normal job duties, when a message comes up on the screen, telling him
that Internet Explorer has stopped working, or has encountered an error. When
he clicks close, he often times loses speech. Most of the time, he ends up
having to reboot the system. I have advised him to reset the IE settings, and
start from scratch. Besides this, I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as
to what I could do to help him.
He is using JAWS 14.0.9002. He's not able to update to version 15. Based on
my experiences, this is more about IE than it is with JAWS, but it has an
affect on how JAWS performs.
