Adrian, yes I'm using Win7. Thanks for the tip. I always wondered what the chevron was for, now I know. Do you have a website for Debbie Kessler? Maybe there's more things I didn't know.

You don't specify your operating system, but is it Win7? These are instructions on how to reveal system tray icons in Win7. I believe the original source was David Bailes' textbook on Win7. My notes add my own experiences at the time I did this. Open start menu properties with Win key, escape, alt-enter. In the first dialog, tab to and press the Notification Area Customize button. I found that the list of options appears when I shit-tabbed once. The first item there is always turn on all icons. I pressed the spacebar on it, then tabbed to Okay. Note. This may not work for "safely remove hardware." There's a complicated way of putting this item in the system tray, but Debbie Kessler posted a much simpler method. For Windows 7, you can do the following to access less frequently used items in your systray. Press windows key plus the letter b to put the focus on the systray chevron. Then press enter to bring up the less frequently used items in the systray. arrow through the items till you hear "safely remove hardware" and press enter. You should be able to locate your flash drive in that list. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mario Brusco via Jfw Sent: Monday, September 22, 2014 10:31 AM To: Voy44; The Jaws for Windows support list. Subject: accessing systray with windows+b hi all, if I need to access something in the systray by pressing Windows+B, JAWS announces two items instead of one as I down arrow a few times. Plus, if I press right arrow, nothing is announced anymore. how can I get this to behave like a list, where I can down-arrow once to land on the next item? I know about the insert+f11 but that is not what I'm asking. _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com
