Thank you so much for all of your help! The trick worked. The FN key plus the escape key does indeed make my function keys work as they should normally. Not only that, it also enables particular keys on my keyboard which are not dedicated keys themselves, as this is a smaller Bluetooth keyboard with my Dell venue eight Pro. Thank you so much for all of your help! I think I'm reallygoing to love working with Windows 8.1 on my tablet, and in fact may even upgrade to Windows 8 on my desktop possibly. It will depend on a number of things, specifically whether or not I can do this and still use a couple of the programs I do for my job as a transcriptionist. Thank you again for everyone's help! I'll email again if I have anymore questions, which I'm sure I will. But I'm really loving the new technology. Can't wait to see what jaws 16 final commercial release at the end of October will have in store for windows eight users of tablets.
