I'm on the Net a good part of the day on all kinds of websites, and the only time that message comes up is when the search string isn't anywhere there. I remember there was a time when control-f didn't work on Firefox, which was when I decided to add the JAWS key as my default. Control-f, as you know, is a Microsoft command, so it isn't necessarily going to work on all browsers. Outside browsers, as you posted, control-f doesn't work in PDF files, and it also doesn't work on some non-MS word processors.
