I'm not sure how many JAWS versions back it has been this way, but in JAWS
16, when in a browser, Control f and Control JAWS Key f bring up exactly the
same JAWS Find dialog. I tested with AUDIBLE.COM, which is a large page. I
found the same text at the bottom of the page using either keystroke
combination. This was true for both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

This isn't true. Adding the JAWS key searches the entire webpage, not just
the current screen. The practical difference between the two functions is
that adding the JAWS key always works, whereas control-f alone doesn't
always work. I stopped using control-f years ago.

The practical impact is that if you want to look for something on a
webpage,
it's better to use Control plus F to find the content. There will usually
be
more in that buffer than in the screen buffer accessed with JAWS KEY plus
Control plus F. If you use the screen find command, the content you are
looking for may not currently be on the screen, but it may be on the web
page itself.

All true. The corollary is that when you find you're using a website a
lot, such as Amazon or your local newspaper, try to remember which quick
navigation keys work well on it. For example, with Amazon, I find
searching for text with control-JAWS key-f gets me the fastest to the
content I want, such as "product details" or, for reviews, the word
"helpful." On another website, pressing 4 for heading level 4 takes me
through the content I need, while yet another website is best navigated
with 3 for heading level 3.
The most time is consumed with unfamiliar websites. Here, I start with 1
for heading level 1, then n. If those don't work, it's time to
experiment.
