I have mixed feelings about Avast. I've had good luck with it catching
problem files, but with JAWS it's not the most accessible tool I know. I
actually had better luck with AVG on the accessibility front, but I
hated being constantly nagged to upgrade or switch versions. Avast is
querky at best when it comes to accessibility, but it has served me
well, and what I like about it is that you can just sort of leave it
alone. At least, that's been the case for me.

Hello, everyone.
As some of you may recall, I'm working with Freedom Scientific Tech Support
on a problem I'm having with my home Windows 7 PC in terms of not being able
to enter text into edit fields when on the internet. One of the FS tech
support people I worked with last week thought Avast was contributing to my
problem, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately, the problem still persisted.
I was quite happy with Avast, and would like to reinstall it as my
anti-virus program once I get my text entry problem solved.
I know that opinions on this will vary, but I'd appreciate the thoughts of
list members on Avast, based on any direct experience with the program.
Thank you.
