Hi, Tom. To answer your first question, set your Internet Explorer back to its default settings this way:

1. Go to Internet Options.

2. Shift plus Tab to the options tabs.

3. either use Right Arrow or Tab to tab to the Advanced Tab.

4. Tab until you reach a button which says, "Restore Advanced Settings." Click that button with Enter.

5. It may ask you if you are sure you really want to reset all your Internet Explorer settings. Then you may need to tab to another button wich says either, "Restore Advanced Settings, or it may simply be a "Yes" button. Click that button. Then tab to apply. Click Apply. Then Tab to OK, and click OK.

To answer your second question, Make sure you download an old version of Internet Explorer before you uninstall IE11. Make sure it is a US English version. Then,

1. Go to your Control Panel and find Programs and Features. Click that link.

2. Find Internet Explorer in your list of programs. Click the program with Enter.

3. You may have a button which says Uninstall, or you may not. You can find out by using Tab.

4. Once you click the program, and have clicked the Uninstall button, if there is one, the program will very slowly begin to uninstall. It takes a while to uninstall because there are a lot of components. You will know when it is uninstalled, because you will be back at your program list in Programs and Features.

5. Then you can install your older version of Internet Explorer. This is also a long process, as long as 10 (ten) minutes, and it may not give any percentages of completion.

6. Once Internet Explorer is installed, and you start it, you will need to set all your preferences in the Options. This will most likely come up when you start the program the first time.

I hope this helps you.

Subject: Two Internet Explorer Questions

Hello, everyone.

I am having trouble with my home 64-bit Windows 7 PC in terms of entering
information into text boxes when on the internet. I find the problem is
much more pronounced with Internet Explorer, than with Firefox.

This brings me to two Internet Explorer questions:

1. What is the procedure for setting IE back to the default settings?;
and

2. Can someone give me detailed instructions for uninstalling IE 11,
and going back to an earlier version, such as IE 9 or 10?

One of our list members suggested that earlier versions of Internet Explorer
can be found at:

www.oldaps.com

but I am not exactly sure how to proceed once I get there.

Thanks as always!

Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan
