You know, that Contextual Menu
is a good old stand by, isn't
it. So many things can be done
through it, one way or
another. I never used it to
speak of until about a month
ago and am finding that you
can do just about anything
there. I really didn't realize
what it was other than to use
properties to check an e-mail
address or just a few things
like that.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

That's good to know, Kimsan,
since I'm sure I'll be
upgrading to Windows 10 at
some point here.

That method works here in
outlook 2013 windows 10. You
can also bring up the
contextual menu and do the
same.

Carolyn:

Well, if I open a message, and
then get out of it, I can then
go back to that message in my
message list view, highlight
it, and do control U. That
will mark it unread for me.

As I said earlier, I'm using
Outlook 2010 with Jaws 16 on a
Windows 7 PC.

Haven't tried it yet on my
Windows 7 work laptop, but I'm
hoping it will work there too.

It's very convenient.

How do you get Control U to
mark a read message as unread?
I tried high lighting the
message and hitting Control U,
and no change takes place.

Thanks Russell for the tip on
using control U for marking a
read message as un-read in
Outlook. This works for me in
Outlook 2010 with Jaws 16 on
my Windows 7 PC.

I often do this if I have an
e-mail message that I intend
to reply to, but can't do the
reply immediately.

Typically, I have marked
messages as unread by going to
the tag sub-menu, and hitting
enter on "mark as unread", but
this is so much easier.

Thanks again!

Guess you learn something new
every day!

Russell, that is good to know.
I'll see if it does that for
me. There are times, when I
want to retain a message for a
while in order to review it
several times before deciding
whether to save it somewhere,
copy some information or just
absorb it and delete the
message.

In the past in Outlook
Express, Control U would bring
you to the next unread
message. Sometimes I'll leave
a couple of messages, because
they have information I want
to reread. In Outlook Express,
when I would come in, all I'd
have to do would be press
Control U, and that would
bring me to the next unread
message.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

If I'm in my message list on a
message that has been read,
pressing CTRL + U marks the
message as "Unread". What did
this keystroke do in the past?
I've never used it.

Take care.

Russell, can you do Control U
to go to Unread? I hope they
get that back like it was in
the one I used to have, no
point calling names, ha.

Yes, when I was complaining
about it earlier with Jaws 16
others told me they were not
experiencing the issue either.
I'm just glad it's working for
me now! :)

Thanks,

Hi all,

I just installed the Jaws 17
beta. I am happy to announce
that in Outlook 2013, when
reading messages, when I press
CTRL + D to delete the current
message and move to the next
message, Jaws is placed at the
top of the next message, and I
can read it as expected
without first having to press
the Alt key twice or alt tab
away and back to the message
as I had to do in Jaws 16!
For me, this is worth the
upgrade in and of itself! Good
job FS! :)

Looking forward to hearing
what everyone else thinks of
Jaws 17.

Happy testing! :)

Russell
